Madsen cut to make room for Troupe
The Raiders cut tight end John Madsen, a converted wide receiver who was in his third year with the Raiders, in order to bring aboard natural tight end Ben Troupe.
Troupe, at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, brings more bulk and blocking potential on a team which is committed to the run.

The Raiders are reportedly bringing in tight end Ben Troupe. He was cut by Tampa Bay this week.
To make room for Troupe, the Raiders cut tight end John Madsen.
Troupe will provide some solid experience and ability as a backup. He is a strong blocker. For Oakland that means a lot since it is a run-first offense. Troupe had some success with Tennessee before signing with Tampa Bay.
When Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens was activated this week following the completion of his two-game suspension, the Bucs cut tight end Ben Troupe to make room for Stevens on the 53-man roster.
