Thursday delayed the launch of the space shuttle Discovery until 0359 GMT Saturday so mission specialists could review tests on a faulty valve, the US space agency said. The Raiders signed third-round pick Matt Shaughnessy five days ago. Raiders signed fourth-round WR Louis Murphy to a four-year, $2.2 million contract, including a signing bonus of $448,000. The Raiders have agreed to terms with second-round draft pick Mike Mitchell. Mitchell was given a four-year deal. For $3.778 million. According to many sources The Raiders have agreed to terms with First round draft pick Darrius Heyward-Bey’. Raiders starting left guard Robert Gallery recently underwent an emergency appendectomy and will miss at least the first two weeks of training camp, according to the Oakland Tribune. Cut from the roster were wide receiver Arman Shields (failed physical) and quarterback Danny Southwick. They’ll need to trim another player now that top draft pick Darrius Heyward-Bey is signed, and one candidate is quarterback Andrew Walter. Cable said he thought Walter’s status would resolve itself in “24 to 48 hours.” And now it has Andrew Walter was let go Thursday after four unremarkable seasons. Wide receiver Javon Walker will open training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list as he rehabs from offseason knee surgery. First let’s make it perfectly clear cutting the big salary of Javon Walker or Ronald Curry will not make that money we need as a matter of fact we would lose a body and it will cost us more on the cap. We only hope we have with a player like them is to trade them which will be highly unlikely. Players that you draft, although can be a needle in the haystack at times, are reasonably priced other then the first rounder’s. So with our current state trading our players for picks could make the most sense. We can franchise someone but remember all that does is push that problem off for another year and let me just tell you a few names we have scheduled for free agency next year start with Derrick Burgess next Kirk Morrison then Thomas Howard and last but not least SeaBas so think about those names and add Nnamdi we have to make some decisions now. So with the understanding that free agent signings will cost money and we don’t have any to resign our own lets take a look at some harsh realities.
