Raider News:
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, coming off a 4-12 season in his first year, apparently wants to see if he can build a team from scratch.
The Raiders did sign cornerback Phillip Adams to a $630,000 deal before he became a restricted free agent Tuesday.
The Raiders signed linebacker Kaluka Maiava, defensive tackle Pat Sims and defensive end Jason Hunter, the club said Wednesday.
Bears linebacker Nick Roach might have found a chance to play in the middle, for a team with a need there.
The Jets were reportedly close to a deal with running back Mike Goodson when the day got started and they were able to cross the final gaps.
Defensive end Matt Shaughnessy is betting on himself.
The Raiders effectively swapped outside linebackers with the Dolphins, but doubtless got the cheaper end of the deal.
The Raiders announced that they and defensive tackle Vance Walker, who spent the last four years with the Falcons, have agreed on a contract for the 2013 season.
The Raiders have held onto one of their own free agents. The team announced Wednesday that they have re-signed right tackle Khalif Barnes.
It won’t erase the past for the Oakland Raiders, but the NFL has voted to eliminate the “Tuck Rule.”
With Mike Mitchell announcing on Twitter that he will be a Carolina Panther, it’s official.
The Raiders draft class of 2009 is no more. To review: 1: WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, Maryland 2: SS Mike Mitchell, Ohio 3. DE Matt Shaughnessy, Wisconsin 4a: WR Louis Murphy, Florida 4b:LB Slade Norris, Oregon State 6a: DE Stryker Sulak, Missouri 6b: TE Brandon Myers, Iowa
The Raiders learned Monday they received a compensatory selection in the sixth round in the NFL draft based on free agents lost in 2012. It is the second pick the Raiders own in the sixth round, other than their own. They also have picks in the first, third, fourth and seventh rounds. Oakland lost its second-round pick as part of the deal for Carson Palmer in 2011, and its fifth-round pick in the Aaron Curry deal earlier that same season. Compensatory picks cannot be traded.
Tight end Brandon Myers, who caught more passes in 2012 than any Raiders tight end since Todd Christensen, signed with the New York Giants Saturday, according to USA Today.
