Raider News:
The Oakland Raiders more than doubled their draft haul by receiving three compensatory picks Monday for April’s draft. The NFL awarded the Raiders picks at the end of the third, fourth and fifth rounds based on free agents they lost and signed last offseason.
On Friday, free-agent linebacker Philip Wheeler visited the Raiders. He apparently liked what he saw. The team announced that Wheeler has signed a contract to join the silver and black.
The Panthers have announced that they traded running back Mike Goodson to the Raiders for offensive lineman Bruce Campbell, a trade that Panthers G.M. Marty Hurney said makes sense for both team’s depth charts.
Preseason Schedule
The Oakland Raiders kick off the franchise’s 53rd season of professional football competition in the national spotlight, hosting the Dallas Cowboys at O.Co Coliseum on Monday night, August 13 on ESPN with kickoff at 5 p.m. PT.
