Former Redskins and Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell had hoped to be a starter in 2012.
The Oakland Raiders announced Wednesday that they have released guard Cooper Carlisle and defensive tackle John Henderson.
After two years with the Raiders, running back Rock Cartwright (Cartwright!) will remain in the Bay Area.
The Kansas City Chiefs announced Thursday that they have signed tight end Kevin Boss, formerly of the Oakland Raiders.
The Oakland Raiders made one-year contract tenders to restricted free agent DL Desmond Bryant and exclusive rights free agents, DE Mason Brodine, CB Bryan McCann and FB Marcel Reece. In addition, the Raiders confirm the restructure of LB Aaron Curry’s contract.
As expected, the Raiders will part ways with linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, less than a year after signing him to a multi-year deal.
The New York Jets announced Friday that they have signed wide receiver Chaz Schilens, formerly of the Raiders.
The Oakland Raiders announced Friday evening that they have signed cornerback Ronald Bartell, formerly of the St. Louis Rams.
Raiders defensive end Trevor Scott is the latest to follow the well-worn trail from Oakland to New England, as he signed with the Patriots today.
Eight years ago, Pitt cornerback Shawntae Spencer didn’t get an invitation to the Scouting Combine.
Center Samson Satele, the Raiders starter for the better part of the last three seasons, has signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent, the club announced.
Last week, the Raiders cut guard Cooper Carlisle, clearing $3 million in base salary off the books for 2012. The Raiders have now brought him back. The team has announced the return of Carlisle, along with the arrival of cornerback Shawntae Spencer.
There was plenty of big news around the NFL on Wednesday, but business went on for all of the teams even if it didn’t grab the biggest headlines. The Raiders reached agreement on contracts with two players, including starting right tackle Khalif Barnes.
