Evening AFC West news and notes

The Arena Football League appears to be no more. I wonder if Denver owner John Elway would ever consider taking a position in the NFL. He was very active with his AFL team and he had said in the past he enjoyed working in a front office. I get the feeling Pat Bowlen, who Elway owned the Denver AFL franchise with, would find a place for Elway with the Broncos if he was ever interested.
Ricky Brown is eating into some of Kirk Morrison’s practice time at middle linebacker in Oakland’s camp. It will be interesting to see if that continues as the season approaches.
The Lane Kiffin-Raiders grievance about due salary continues. They have been several meetings in the past couple of months as the two sides are going through an arbitrator. Still, there is no timetable for an outcome.
