The Oakland Raiders picked up 10-year veteran Greg Spires last weekend, signing the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer to a one-year deal.
Duane Starks was released.
Wide receiver, Marcel Reece, who earned a Raiders helmet Sunday for his performance in the Raiders’ rookie minicamp, also earned a contract with the club.

Former NFL center Curtis Whitley, who played for three teams including the Raiders in the 1990s and had a history of substance use, was found dead in his trailer home in West Texas.
The Oakland Raiders today are mourning the passing of Earl Leggett, who served two stints as an assistant with the Silver and Black, from 1979-1988 and from 1991-1992. Leggett tutored the defensive line.
