Raider news:
Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp announced on Thursday that he’s retiring after 13 NFL season.
Atlanta, Kansas City and Oakland are involved in a complicated coin flip scenario to decide the third, fourth and fifth picks in the NFL draft in April. The first pick will go to Miami (1-15) and the second to St. Louis (3-13). Then come the Falcons, Raiders and Chiefs, teams that finished 4-12 and tied in the strength of schedule factor.
The Oakland Raiders Booster Clubs honored RB Justin Fargas. as the 2007 Commitment to Excellence Award recipient. Fargas was chosen based on his loyalty to team’s mission both on and off the field.
Zach Miller set a team rookie record with 44 catches, topping Tim Brown’s 43 in 1988.
Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and wide receiver Jerry Porter decided Monday that they will void the final years of their contracts, making them free agents this upcoming offseason.
