Raider news:
Oakland safety Jarrod Cooper was suspended for the Raiders’ first four regular season games for violating the NFL’s policy on steroids.
The Oakland Raiders signed fifth-round pick Eric Frampton on the same day they lost safety Jarrod Cooper to a four-game suspension. The team also parted ways with quarterback Josh Booty, waiving the signal caller.
The Raiders reduced their training camp roster to 90 by releasing safeties Jarrod Cooper and Darnell Bing.
Jarrod Cooper we will miss you you have always been very kind to us and willing to talk to us anytime good luck in all your future endeavors.
Bing, a former college safety, was given a shot at linebacker but failed. It says something about his ability that one of his former college coaches, Lane Kiffin, would cut him. Bing was selected with the 101st pick in 2006 last season and is the highest player chosen from that draft to be released by any team.
Darnell Bing was claimed off waivers by the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, a day after being waived by the Oakland Raiders.

Training camp Begins
Every football fan has a moment that signals the start of a new season for them – the end of the Super Bowl, the NFL Draft, Mini-Camps, etc. Though it may not be a significant day for every football fan, moving day is the closest indicator Training Camp is set to begin. With players reporting to Camp this Thursday, different departments began loading moving trucks with every ounce of gear they will need in Napa.
Kiffin talks about camp schedule
Question of the week:
Do you think that Darius and Dante were brought in out of need or because as usual Al wants the Superbowl and will never agree to throwing away a season?
